About This Spot

Arriving at Goatfeathers Seafood Restaurant feels like stepping into a welcoming coastal nook where the laid-back spirit of Santa Rosa Beach blends effortlessly with soulful southern flavors. The air hums softly with the chatter of familiar faces and the gentle clink of glasses, setting a calm yet vibrant rhythm that invites guests to slow down and savor the moment. Whether you find yourself seated at the bustling bar or tucked away in a cozy corner upstairs, the atmosphere carries an easygoing warmth that makes room for both celebration and quiet comfort.

The space itself wears its character lightly — subtle nods to the sea and its harvest adorn the setting, like scattered oyster shells leading you inside, or the sweeping waterfall windows that frame light just so. It’s a place where neighbors and travelers alike can settle in, leaning into genuine human connections as much as the food.

Speaking of the food, Goatfeathers doesn’t just serve seafood; it presents an invitation to explore the richness of the Gulf Coast’s offerings through dishes that feel both honest and thoughtful. Generous portions arrive with a kind of humble flair, from plump oysters that invite shared moments of simple delight to hearty fish and chips that echo familiar comforts with a fresh twist. The menu carries a casual charm, comfortably balancing the indulgence of buttery lobster tails or crab cakes with sides like crispy hush puppies and vibrant cole slaw that many find hard to resist.

The team’s friendly, personable approach adds an unmistakable layer of ease — bartenders who remember your favorite drink, servers who understand that sharing can be part of the joy, and a sense that each visit is more about connection than rush. Even with its intimate size and occasional hustle, Goatfeathers holds onto a neighborhood feel, where meals stretch out over laughter and stories, even when guests pop in for a late lunch or a celebratory birthday dinner.

For those who appreciate a spot that lets flavors speak softly but clearly, Goatfeathers offers an experience both familiar and gently adventurous, wrapped in the genuine hospitality that makes Santa Rosa Beach feel like home.

We had a great experience visiting Goatfeathers! Wanted to try something new for my birthday and they did not disappoint! We sat at the bar and Will was amazing! So friendly and personable. We had the fish tacos and fish and chips. Huge portions! We will probably share next time. The food was delicious! I am very picky about cole slaw but theirs was great! We will definitely be back!

We tried this place for dinner after a friend recommended it. Parking is not great but the food is! Elevator was inoperable so that sucked for my elderly mom who had to climb the many stairs to the restaurant above. Smallish in size but we didn’t have a long wait. The red snapper special and amberjack (fish of the day) was delicious! Fried green tomatoes, Gouda grits, and Parmesan potatoes made for great sides. The biggest and best surprise were the hush puppies- YUM!!! A little sweetness to the meal Also, we were pleased with the kids’ menu offerings. I wish I remembered the server’s name as he made our experience even better!! Overall yummy food but would caution for those where accessibility is an issue.

We’ve been hearing about Goatfeathers for years and I’ve never been able to come eat here. This restaurant had the best crabcakes the best shrimp and grits, and incredible Brussel sprouts. It’s very casual, laid-back and great service.

Really enjoyed my meal! It had been about 30 years since my last visit. I went as a kid with my family and got a t-shirt that I wore until it was more holes than shirt. My only complaint is that there wasn’t anyone in the shirt area so I could buy a new one. I got the fish and shrimp. Plenty of food, and all of it was hot and delicious. Hush puppies, fries, slaw, all really tasty. This location has a cool water feature running over the windows on the back of the restaurant that adds to the atmosphere. Service was quick and the staff was attentive and welcoming. Great experience all the way around!

Very cool vibes, love the oyster shells on the walk up to the restaurant, and the waterfall windows were neat! Our food was delicious and had very generous portions, one appetizer and one entree was enough to split amongst me and my husband, and didn't break the bank! If we lived closer, we'd be back all the time!

We ordered the grilled and blackened shrimp, fish and chips, a salad with fried shrimp, and Alfredo. The food had mixed reviews with the grilled and blackened shrimp being the favorites. The customer service was good. It did seem pricey for the quality, especially concerning the Alfredo and the fried food that we ordered. There isn’t a view, which was what we were looking for this evening. Overall it was a good experience.

We decided to stop by this place for late lunch today. This place catch of the day for today was the triggerfish. It was fresh and flavorful. The salmon has lots of seasoning including pineapple which add a great flavor. The hush puppy was good with a hint of sweetness. The oysters were great. The shrimps were fresh. They even have the kids menu which was nice. The kids menu including the virgin frozen drinks was a nice touch. One kid picked virgin pina colada while the other kid pick coke. We had alcoholic pina colada drink and mango beer.
